Laura ensures newcomers find connections to feel at home and that regular attendees are fully engaged. If you are interested in connecting with others one-on-one, in small groups or through serving in ministry or membership, talk to Laura!
Laura invited Jesus to be the lead of her life and felt the Holy Spirit in an awesome way in about 4th or 5th grade. Her mom had just become a Christian and they started attending Mt. Prospect Bible Church The pastor was a good old Southern pastor wearing a white suit and shaking his Bible.
Laura and her family have attended Springbrook since we met at Lake in the Hills Elementary in 1997. Almost from the very beginning, she has been serving in the children’s ministry, including as Children’s Director for five years.
She and her husband Gary met while attending Harper College, where they were both enrolled in the horticulture program. Their first date was at a rodeo (there was a story behind that, you’ll have to ask sometime!) They have been married since 1987.
Gary and Laura have two grown children. Josh is studying to be a green’s keeper, following in his father’s footsteps, and Nikki is studying to be a special needs teacher. God has gifted her in a very special way to care for children with special needs.
They also have a cat named KC, a rabbit named Leo and three unnamed jellyfish. Yes, jellyfish! They were a Mother’s Day gift from her very thoughtful and generous daughter.
Laura loves to eat all things Mexican or really anything spicy, and she is known around the church for her loud and infectious laughter!
