Shannon Marcou coordinates the different outreach and compassion events, as well as marriage and family events. She works with about eight different leaders for the events Springbrook regularly hosts and meets with them once a month to go over the positives and areas that need work. We are always improving our ministry together through prayer and planning. Some of the main events are the food truck, jail ministry, food drives, baby bottle campaign, Angel Tree, and many others.
Shannon became a Christ-follower at the age of 11 and was baptized soon after in January 1991 in Northern Michigan (Skidway Lake). It was her mother who encouraged her to attend a Christian school not only for the education in music (B.A. Contemporary Music Ministries/Worship Arts), but to really dive deeper into her faith in Christ and to know why she believes what she believes. Though shy and quiet, her spiritual gift of music and evangelism allow God to use her to reach others for Christ. “He can on His strength and not on mine. I can’t do it! In my weakness He is mighty! Praise God! I am very glad I made the choice to listen to Him,” she said.
Shannon initially came to Springbrook by watching the internet broadcasts before attending a small group in 2011. She was so enthralled with the people of that group and the ministry their church had that she wrote to Pastor Dan and sent him her testimony and resume. After a year went by followed by a three-day fast about my future, Pastor Dan called to say the staff wanted to interview her for a job as an outreach director. “I knew God had heard me and was calling me back into church ministry!”
She and her husband have a cat named Baby.
