Penney grew up in a Christian home in Massachusetts.  Her parents were very active in their church and modeled the gift of service working with the choir, youth, and seniors.  Penney was also active in her church, but fell away from her faith for a period of time after high school. She re-dedicated her life to Christ in 2002 and was baptized in 2007.

Penney started her journey with Springbrook as part of a women’s small group in the fall of 2009.  Soon after, she began using her gift of service by volunteering in Compassion projects, Kid City, and AWANA. In February 2013, she became the Director of KidsHope at Springbrook and has been a mentor at Lake in the Hills Elementary School ever since.

As Discipleship Coordinator, Penney will continue her involvement with compassion projects while focusing the majority of her time providing administrative support for Springbrook attendees on their journey on the Discipleship Pathway.

Penney married her husband Ron in 2003.  They have two wonderful boys, Sam and Ben, who keep them very busy with activities.  They feel blessed that their boys are growing in their faith at Springbrook.
