Greetings from Pine Ridge SD!
We have no water this morning, and our bodies are starting to feel the wear of working all day and sleeping on the floor each night. I don’t know that I would call our conditions in Pine Ridge SD “harsh”, but they are definitely beyond the ordinary! James 1:2 says that we are to consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds because it produces perseverance, which results in maturity and completeness, and so we are focusing on joy.
In a strange way, despite our circumstances, we have a clear, laser-focused mission: loving God and loving others. We talked to Tony yesterday about our forgiveness in Christ, we shared with Ron and Robin last night that God reveals himself to us through His word and through His Son, and we just loved on Poor Ber and his daughter Lex.
We all face trials of many kinds. Some of them are physical, some of them are emotional and some of them are spiritual. Wherever you are this week it is our prayer, from our team at Pine Ridge, that you will find the kind of joy that transcends all understanding!
We are looking forward to getting back and sharing with our Springbrook church family. We covet your prayers and can’t wait to be with you again!
I hope you are enjoying your summer! Join us this Sunday where our guest speaker, Pastor Clary Butler, will be teaching on overcoming adversity.
