The team met on July 19 and July 23. During those meetings, a significant portion of time was devoted to prayer: seeking the Lord’s will and praying over our church, as well as the candidates. During those meetings the team also further refined their understanding of the Ministry Match tool that will be used to evaluate how well candidates’ skills and values match the role of the lead pastor at Springbrook. In due respect for their service to the church, internal candidates are being evaluated first to fill the lead pastor position. The position is not yet open to external candidates. This decision was made because internal candidates have already shown strengths and areas for growth; comparison to external candidates would not be equitable as our church would have no knowledge of those same types of areas for growth.
