March 18th Updates

Worship Services

Springbrook Community Church will move our weekly Sunday morning services online through at least Sunday, April 12th! We will host a live broadcast at 9:00 a.m. each Sunday with worship, teaching and ministry updates. You can either watch the live stream with us or watch and share the service with your friends and family at any time immediately following the live broadcast.

Our elder board will continue to monitor national and local governmental agency guidelines and recommendations and will provide routine updates on when we will resume Sunday morning services in our building. Be sure to visit www.springbrook.org/updates for up-to-date Springbrook news and updates.

Small Groups & Ministries

Relationships have always been one of our strengths at Springbrook, and it has been so exciting to see how our small group network is coming together to strengthen, encourage, and support one another and others in our community!  Through daily devotionals, online gatherings, and simple phone calls and communication, we can make sure that no one walks alone, not only through crisis, but through life!

If you are not connected to a small group or ministry team at Springbrook, now is a great time to be looking for opportunities. I know it seems strange, but in a time when social distancing is the goal, small groups and ministries actually can become closer! To see a list of available small groups, please visit www.springbrook.org/smallgroups

Watch for more information from your small group or ministry team leader about how you can actually get better connected to the Body of Christ and grow in your faith as we wait on what God has for us individually and together.  If you are not connected to a Springbrook small group at this time, follow the Prayer Requests or Support links on our website.

Resourcing

Our elder board is monitoring our finances closely, and we want to personally thank those of you that sacrificially serve and give to the work God is accomplishing in and through our ministry at Springbrook.

Half of our financial support comes through our collection on Sunday morning, so you can imagine the financial strain our ministry will be under in the next few weeks as we continue to resource existing ministries, our church and leaders, and those in need in our community through our helping hand ministries.

If you have not yet signed up for automated giving, or are able to give online, please text “springbrook” without quotes to 77977, or visit www.springbrook.org/giving for more information and options.

Leadership Gathering

If you are a leader at Springbrook or involved in leadership, you are invited to join us for a special leadership gathering video conference call this Thursday or Friday. You can call or log into one of the video conference calls Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. or Friday morning at 8:00 a.m. For more conference call information, visit www.springbrook.org/zoomleaders

This is an unprecedented time in http://www.springbrook.org/lzoomeadersour ministry, and we want to ensure that we have clear and effective communication with our leadership team and that we are resourcing our leaders to be effective with the opportunities before us.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel to contact any member of our staff or elder board at www.springbrook.org/leaders

Closing Thoughts

My grandfather worked with what was then American Airways and became one of the first employees with American Airlines. We have 3 generations of American Airlines employees in our family, and I’ve done a lot of flying myself. With all this airline exposure, I still chuckle a little every time I get on a plane and need to listen to the safety briefing. But you know what:  It’s important to be reminded routinely that sometimes things don’t go as planned!

What do they tell you during the safety briefing? When the air mask drops down during your flight, what is the first thing you are supposed to do? Put on your mask… and then… {{pause for dramatic effect}} … put the mask on your… child! Some parents might put their air mask on first selfishly or instinctively out of self-preservation, and some might try to put it on their child first at the risk of not being able to help their child or themselves before they pass out. Motivation and understanding is everything!

At this time, I am asking our leadership team to beware of motivation and understanding and to ensure that we are taking care of ourselves “SO THAT” we can care for those God has placed around us. Let us be prepared and persevere, so that after we have done the will of God, we receive what He has promised!

May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and be blessed.

On the journey together,
Pastor Rich
