SUMMARY
In the winter of 2006, Springbrook completed construction of our current facilities and moved from Jacobs High School into our existing building. The building required very little maintenance for the first 5 years, but each year for the last now 14 years, we have seen increasing expenses in preventive maintenance and repairs.
We addressed significant issues with our parking lot in 2020, and now need to address issues with the exterior of our building. The 19-year-old aging concrete exterior and paint is in need of repair, there is drainage and rust buildup on the exterior, the seams between the concreate panels have errored, and the paint has come off in many areas of the building exterior (pictures below).
After a careful review of our current financial position, it is the recommendation of our elder board that we invest $36,500 from our current cash balance to repair and paint the exterior of our building. Because this expense was not in our 2024 budget, and because this expense is over $25,000, this recommendation required the affirmation of our current members and was unanimously approved.
A portion of our yearend offering this year will be used to help offset this cost, in conjunction with some exciting opportunities we have moving into 2025. Watch for more information about our yearend offering launching in November, and please feel free to contact any member of the elder board if you have any questions (Springbrook.org/elders).
Thank you for your commitment to Springbrook and the work God is doing through this local Body of Christ!
