As of October 11th, all the maintenance to our HVAC system in now complete! The system is currently learning our usage patterns and monitoring our environment to make adjustments, and should be self-sufficient by the end of October. 08/28/2022 Update

On Sunday July 17th, the congregation affirmed the elder board recommendation to repair our heating & air conditioning system. The repair work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 6th. Work on the building will be occurring from 6am to 2pm each day for an anticipated 2 weeks, and should have minimum effect on normal ministry operations. In the winter of 2006, Springbrook completed construction of our current facilities and moved from Jacobs High School into our existing building. The building required very little maintenance for the first 10 years, but each year for the last 6 years we have seen increasing expenses in preventive maintenance and repairs.

Our heating & air conditioning system (HVAC) has been a significant area of investment for us the last several years. We have 9 separate units on the rooftop of our building, each ranging in price from $25K – $35K and each with an estimated life span of 10 years. Although our HVAC units are well beyond their expected life, our outstanding preventive maintenance efforts are giving us an expected additional 5 years! The good news is that the HVAC units are in great shape.

The modules and flow controllers inside the building are separate from the HVAC units. The controllers were old technology when installed and they are now obsolete. It is difficult, or we are unable, to find parts to maintain and repair systems that have been wasting gas and electricity and causing significant heating and cooling problems in the building.

The elder board unanimously recommends a total replacement of all internal systems, at a cost of $70K. This project will bring all the systems up to the current technology, allow compatibility for future new roof top units, and give us better control and efficiencies of the temperatures in the building.
