“No child deserves to be forgotten.”
Angel Tree, a program started by Prison Fellowship, reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. McHenry County Angel Tree Ministry is excited to partner with Springbrook again this year!
Please pick an Angel from the Christmas tree in the Atrium at whatever age and gender you would like, spend anywhere from $15 to $25 on an appropriate gift, and bring it back to the church.
If you would like to attend the annual Christmas party, please sign up at the ministry center after the service on Sunday.
When parents go to prison, their children also partake of their punishment, often struggling with poverty, shame, anger, abandonment, and loneliness. For many, it may also include following their parents down the same destructive road to incarceration.
Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree program delivers Christmas gifts, the Gospel, and a personal message of love to children on behalf of the Mom or Dad behind bars. A program of Prison Fellowship, Angel Tree reaches out to these children with the love of Christ. This unique program gives us an opportunity to share Christ’s love by helping to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the families of prisoners.
The children of incarcerated parents are often the silent sufferers. You can let them know they aren’t forgotten. You can give the child of a prisoner the joy of Christmas this year. We need volunteers to:
- Contact families for their childrens’ gift wishes.
- Buy and wrap Christmas gifts.
- Deliver gifts to children.
Every child also receives an age-appropriate presentation of the Gospel message—the true meaning of Christmas. Watch for the tree with angel ornaments, which list children’s names and their wishlist, in the atrium as we prepare for the Christmas season!
